Georgetown,Texas is home to over 35,000 people and the fastest growing city within Williamson County. Over the next few years, Georgetown expects to grow even more with a new regional mall, new developments with private golf course communities such as Sun City Texas and Cimarron Hill.

Located on the banks of the San Gabriel River in Central Texas, Georgetown provides a unique lifestyle with a small town atmosphere, yet only 30 miles to Austin.  

We take great pride in the restoration and preservation of Historic Georgetown and won the "Great American Main Street Award" in 1997. Our downtown courthouse, which was built in 1848,
and square are bustling with business.

In 2001, the Palace Theatre was renovated and reopened. Its 1936 Art Deco styling once again offers a variety of live theater, movies, live music events, and children's productions.

Southwestern University is the second oldest university in the state of Texas. The beautiful campus invites exploration. Events held at the university are very popular with townspeople, and the students are among the best volunteers in our community.

The Georgetown Independent School District provides excellence in education. Georgetown High School was awarded a "Blue Ribbon High School" in 1996 for outstanding quality. We also boast a low student/teacher ratio in comparison to neighboring school districts.

Outdoor recreation is a year round event here. With 14 city parks, Lake Georgetown, and numerous community events there is something for everyone. We even have our very own parade around the Square at Christmas that anyone can participate in. You will see everything from decorated tricycles to elaborate floats.
